An urgent search is currently underway following reports of a man allegedly sexually assaulting multiple women while they were engaged in physical activities along the seafront. Authorities have released footage of the individual they wish to speak to regarding the incidents that occurred in Hove Lawns and its vicinity in East Sussex. The suspect, described as a bald man in his 40s with either a Spanish or Italian accent, is often seen wearing workout attire. The perpetrator is believed to have interacted with the victims, who were either taking a break or had just completed their exercise routine, during the hours of 4.30am to 9.30am.
According to police, the assailant proceeded to sexually assault the victims over their clothing. Recent incidents have been connected to previous reports from last year and 2023, resulting in the arrest and subsequent release of a suspect without further action taken. Detective Inspector Jenny Pietersen emphasized that the safety of the public is of utmost importance to law enforcement and assured that an investigation is currently in progress. Additional patrols have been deployed along the seafront to enhance the security of women in the area.
Authorities are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incidents or recognizes the individual in question to come forward promptly. Furthermore, police are in contact with each victim, with reassurances that there is no indication of an escalated threat to women frequenting the seafront.
