LG TV owners are in for a treat just in time for the holiday season. The renowned Korean technology giant, LG, has recently announced a significant upgrade to its popular LG Channels platform, offering a plethora of new features and additional free content to households, including exclusive shows from Sky.
The latest update, which commenced rollout this month, enables users with specific LG screens to enjoy content from Sky Sports Stories, Sky Sports Vault, and Sky Sports Classics without the need for a subscription. Additionally, LG has recently included the Sky News channel to its growing list of complimentary offerings.
But that’s not all. The upgrade also introduces a variety of new content options, such as LG1 Christmas for festive entertainment, the FIFA+ Women Channel for soccer enthusiasts, and the DP World Tour for golf aficionados.
Like all LG Channels, these new additions fall under the FAST (Free Ad-Supported Television) services category, meaning viewers will encounter advertisements during their viewing experience.
In addition to the new channels, the update brings about broader enhancements, including personalized content suggestions and a revamped user interface aimed at simplifying and speeding up the process of finding something to watch.
A novel feature called “Quick Access” now allows viewers to access channel information, the TV guide, favorites, and popular content instantly by pressing the “OK” button on the LG Magic Remote while watching a program.
