“New Clues in MH370 Mystery: Witness Reports Seeing Plane on Fire”

One individual reported witnessing the well-known Boeing 777, carrying 239 passengers, on fire.

The mysterious disappearance of Malaysia Airlines flight 370, which occurred on March 8, 2014, while en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, has remained a significant aviation enigma. In 2014, a New Zealand oil rig worker, Mike McKay, faced job repercussions after he reported witnessing what he believed to be MH370 engulfed in flames while on a break at the Songa Mercur oil rig off the coast of Vietnam.

McKay, aged 57, described seeing a burning aircraft at a high altitude and notified his employers via email, expressing his observation of the plane’s descent. The leaked email detailed the precise location and circumstances of the sighting, raising questions about the aircraft’s trajectory following the reported incident.

Vietnamese authorities launched an aircraft search based on McKay’s report, while subsequent search efforts, such as those by marine robotics company Ocean Infinity, were temporarily halted in April, awaiting the appropriate season for search operations to resume.

Ismail Hammad, Chief Engineer at Egyptair, has proposed a solution to expedite the search for missing plane MH370 by questioning the authenticity of wreckage images and highlighting discrepancies in the paint condition of the recovered debris.
