Heartbreaking details have surfaced concerning the passing of a devoted Disney fan, as witnesses recall the unsettling moment they heard a loud noise at the resort.
Summer Equitz, aged 31, tragically took her own life after traveling from Illinois to Disney World Florida solo, without her family. She leaped from a 12th-floor balcony in front of guests and staff at the Contemporary Resort on October 14.
A married couple staying at the hotel recounted the heartbreaking sight of Summer landing just 30 feet away from them on the fourth-floor observation deck. An incident report from an Orange County Sheriff’s Deputy, obtained by local media, detailed the couple witnessing the incident and reporting that Summer appeared lifeless. Staff members on the 15th-floor observation deck were shaken when they discovered a blue tote bag left behind by Summer on the 12th floor.
Summer’s LinkedIn profile revealed her past work as a character performer and entertainment host at Disneyland Anaheim from 2012 to 2015. She had recently celebrated her honeymoon with her husband Nicholas Danlovich at Walt Disney World, and a photo with Bob Iger, the CEO of Walt Disney Company, was captioned by her as a peak moment in her life.
Tragically, just 10 months before her death, Summer had announced her pregnancy and joyfully shared an ultrasound picture. The announcement came shortly after their Disney honeymoon, where the couple had spent time in Orlando, Florida.
This incident occurred shortly after another tragic event at Disneyland in California, where a woman in her 60s passed away after riding the Haunted Mansion ride. Anaheim Fire & Rescue responded to the scene and provided CPR, but the woman was pronounced deceased at a local hospital.
