Anthony Joshua has vowed not to go easy on Jake Paul and expressed that only a knockout will satisfy his desire for aggression. The former heavyweight champion will face YouTuber Paul in Miami on December 19, in what is expected to be a one-sided contest where Joshua stands to earn up to £70 million. Joshua, who will be trained by Oleksandr Usyk’s team for the fight, emphasized that only a knockout victory will be adequate for him.
“I must knock him out; simply beating him won’t be enough for me,” Joshua stated. “I intend to inflict significant damage on him in the ring. I aim to demonstrate my superiority as a fighter and will continue to do so as long as I compete. My objective is clear – to cause harm and dominate the fight by delivering powerful blows and showcasing boxing techniques that may be unfamiliar to him.”
Acknowledging Paul’s experience with 13 professional fights since his debut in 2020, Joshua praised his opponent as a serious fighter. Reflecting on his own journey in boxing, Joshua highlighted the importance of not underestimating anyone, given his own underdog experience early in his career.
In response, Paul expressed his determination to achieve an upset victory in what he believes could be the biggest surprise in boxing history. Confident in his power and timing, Paul emphasized his ability to deliver unexpected knockouts, cautioning Joshua to be vigilant. Paul predicted a fourth or fifth-round knockout, asserting his readiness to go to extreme lengths to secure a win.
Both fighters are gearing up for a highly anticipated showdown that has captured the attention of the boxing world, with contrasting strategies and motivations driving their preparations for the upcoming bout.
