Virgin Media is introducing a significant upgrade for its TV platform users, enhancing their viewing experience with three new bonus channels. The telecoms company has partnered with Rakuten to bring in three Free Ad-Supported Streaming Television (FAST) channels this month.
The new channels include Rakuten TV Drama on Ch462, offering popular movies like The Big Short, Gosford Park, and JFK. Viewers can also enjoy Rakuten TV Comedy on Ch463, featuring films such as Big Momma’s House, The Internship, and Bedazzled. Additionally, Rakuten TV: Sci Fi on Ch464 will provide a variety of sci-fi content for fans.
Virgin Media customers with TV 360 and Flex will automatically receive the entertainment upgrade at no extra cost. The channels will be easily accessible through Virgin Media’s TV guide and can be found using voice control for convenience.
David Bouchier, Chief TV and Entertainment Officer at Virgin Media O2, expressed excitement about the new streaming channels, emphasizing the value and quality content they bring to customers. With this addition, Virgin TV users now have access to 40 FAST channels, expanding their entertainment options.
While a subscription fee is required for Virgin Media TV services, the enriched channel lineup offers a superior viewing experience compared to free alternatives.
