“Question Time Audience Criticizes Tory MP Over Covid Response”

During the latest episode of Question Time, the audience enthusiastically supported panel members who criticized a Conservative Member of Parliament for his party’s handling of the Covid pandemic.

In Loughborough, Leicestershire, two individuals challenged Tory MP Joe Robertson to apologize for the Conservative Party’s errors in managing the pandemic. This came after a recent report highlighted that Boris Johnson’s delayed lockdown measures resulted in numerous deaths, with the Inquiry chair Baroness Heather Hallett describing a “toxic culture” within the government related to the Partygate scandal.

Despite not being part of the government at the time, Mr. Robertson faced criticism on the show. Fellow panelist Josh Babarinde accused him of neglecting to apologize for the party’s mistakes, which had let down the country according to Babarinde.

Babarinde called for Boris Johnson to publicly apologize and be barred from holding public office due to the failures during the pandemic. The audience applauded Babarinde, a social entrepreneur, for his remarks after Mr. Robertson failed to provide a direct apology when questioned by a young man in the crowd.

Comedian Zoe Lyons also criticized the government’s pandemic response, singling out Prime Minister Boris Johnson for his leadership during the crisis, which garnered further support from the audience.
