A young boy from Calgary who was saved from drowning in a river in British Columbia is currently recovering in the hospital, with his family expressing concern over the severe damage to his lungs. Nine-year-old Paul-Angelo Warren was swimming and diving in the Shuswap River near Enderby on August 3 when he failed to resurface after going underwater. Maria Warren, his mother, mentioned that bystanders at the beach acted swiftly, pulling him out of the water shortly after he disappeared. According to an official statement from the RCMP, the boy was trapped against fallen debris by the river’s strong current before being rescued and administered CPR on the shore. Authorities estimate that he may have been submerged for up to 10 minutes.
The child is currently receiving care at Vancouver Children’s Hospital, surrounded by his family. Maria emphasized her constant presence by his side, ensuring that he sees her and hears her voice as soon as he regains consciousness.
