Umar Akbar has been identified as one of the two individuals who lost their lives in a tragic accident on the M1 highway when their car veered off the road and collided with a tree. The incident occurred on the southbound section of the highway between junctions 37 and 36 around 11:36 pm on Wednesday.
Following the crash, emergency services responded to the scene, but sadly, both Umar and his female passenger, who remains unnamed but is in her twenties, were pronounced dead at the location. Specialized officers are providing support to their families during this difficult time.
South Yorkshire Police have initiated an investigation into the fatal collision.
