Many young individuals across the country are currently encountering challenges in navigating through life, with numerous talented individuals facing obstacles. The pandemic has significantly disrupted their education, social interactions, and job prospects, leading to a disruption in their daily routines.
Alarmingly, statistics reveal that one in eight young individuals are neither employed nor engaged in learning activities, representing nearly a million unique stories of talented individuals seeking the right support to thrive. Football clubs, alongside other community hubs like libraries and youth centers, are actively making a positive impact in addressing these issues.
Through the establishment of Youth Hubs, these clubs are creating comprehensive support centers offering career guidance, CV assistance, and mental well-being support to young people seeking employment or training opportunities. A recent announcement of £25 million in funding will facilitate the expansion of these Hubs to nearly 200 locations over the next three years, increasing the reach of life-changing assistance to more young individuals in need.
The outcomes from existing Youth Hubs demonstrate tangible success, with young people transitioning from unemployment to meaningful employment and training opportunities. This investment is part of a broader initiative, the Youth Guarantee, which ensures that every 18 to 21-year-old will have access to earning or learning opportunities.
