Miniature golf course employees acted heroically to rescue a young boy after a wall collapsed during a child’s birthday celebration. The incident occurred at Family Golf on Sidcup Bypass in Sidcup, southeast London, prompting a quick response from the police on Sunday, November 9.
London Metropolitan Police officials are investigating the incident, which led to emergency services rushing to the location at approximately 5:39 pm following reports of an injured individual. The London Air Ambulance was also dispatched along with other ambulances to provide medical assistance to two children affected by the accident.
The 5-year-old boy, who sustained serious injuries, was swiftly transported to the hospital and is currently in critical condition. Eyewitnesses who observed the boy’s head injuries credited the quick actions of the staff for potentially saving his life.
Another child, a 6-year-old girl, was also injured but has since been discharged from the hospital. An anonymous individual present at the scene mentioned the significant police presence at what was supposed to be a children’s birthday party.
A spokesperson from the London Ambulance Service confirmed that they received a call regarding an injured person on Sidcup Bypass and dispatched multiple medical units, including ambulance crews and paramedics, to the location. Both injured children received medical attention at the scene and were subsequently taken to the hospital for further treatment.
