In Russia, a man has been arrested on accusations of drugging, sexually assaulting, and causing the disappearance of young women he enticed to care for his nine-year-old son. Dmitry Artamoshin, aged 46, is facing allegations of poisoning, physical abuse, and sexual misconduct towards the nannies he hired before confining them within his residence in Zvezda, Moscow. Authorities are currently seeking two missing women who are presumed to have met a tragic fate.
Reports from law enforcement suggest that the suspect’s son, who was subjected to witnessing the assaults and punished if he disobeyed, is now receiving support from psychologists. The child is described as traumatized, suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, and bearing visible scars and injuries.
Allegedly, the boy was coerced into driving his father’s vehicle for alcohol procurement and was forced to consume a suspicious liquid that led to him losing consciousness, similar to the substance reportedly used on the female victims by Artamoshin.
One survivor who managed to escape recounted her harrowing experience, stating that she teetered on the brink of death multiple times. Initially, the perpetrator appeared harmless, according to her account to the media.
The suspect’s wife, who fled in March, claimed to have been sexually assaulted, drugged, and beaten. After her escape, she went into hiding, but Artamoshin attempted to locate her by posting messages urging her return. Authorities are urging any other potential victims to come forward.
Artamoshin supposedly recruited the nannies through online ads, deceiving neighbors who viewed him as an ordinary gardener with a young school-going child.
Despite the absence of the missing nannies, Artamoshin has been formally charged with two murders. Additionally, he faces accusations of rape, sexual abuse, and coercion of women into drug consumption.
If found mentally incompetent following psychiatric evaluations, the suspect could potentially be confined indefinitely in a secure facility, as per reports, as an alternative to a life imprisonment sentence.
Formerly employed as a used car salesman and self-promoted as “The Great One,” Artamoshin displayed an obsession with numerology, particularly fixating on the number 27. Coincidentally, the two missing women vanished on the 27th of different months, aligning with Artamoshin’s birthday falling on August 27.
