Eight individuals were swiftly transported to a medical facility following a collision involving a school minibus and a tree in County Antrim.
The incident occurred around 12:30 pm, prompting the response of police, fire crews, and eight ambulances to the scene on Tirgracy Road.
A police representative confirmed the single-vehicle road traffic collision, indicating that several individuals were hospitalized for non-life-threatening injuries. The road remains closed for investigation.
The minibus, reportedly affiliated with a local college, was carrying multiple passengers who received on-site treatment for various injuries.
The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service received a distress call at 12:36 pm on the same day, dispatching a range of emergency resources to the location, including ambulances and specialized paramedics.
Additionally, the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue service deployed one fire engine to the scene, where they assisted in providing aid and ensuring the area’s safety before handing over control to the police.
The incident was resolved by 2:00 pm, with affected individuals transported to Antrim Area Hospital and Royal Victoria Hospital for further treatment.
