“Single Mother Sentenced to 20 Years for Australian Surfers’ Deaths”

A mother who is single has been sentenced to a maximum of 20 years in prison for the suspected murder of two Australian brothers and their friend in Mexico.

Callum, 33, and Jake, 30, Robinson were on a surfing trip in Baja, Mexico, with their friend Jack Carter Rhoad, 30, when they went missing on April 27 last year. A few days later, on May 3, their bodies were found at the bottom of a well along with another body not directly linked to the case.

Ari Gisell, a 23-year-old single mother and ex-girlfriend of Jesús Gerardo, has been accused of murder along with two other men. According to reports, Gisell allegedly expressed interest in the tires of the car belonging to the Robinsons and Mr. Rhoad, leading to the tragic events.

Prosecutors stated that Jesús Gerardo, accompanied by Irineo Francisco and Ángel Jesús, encountered the Robinsons and Mr. Rhoad after dropping off Gisell at her residence. The trio then followed the tourists to their camping site, where they reportedly robbed and fatally shot them.

During the court proceedings, Debra Robinson, the mother of Callum and Jake, shared a statement lamenting the loss of her sons. She described the pain of their absence and the profound impact it has had on their family.

Natalie Weirtz, the widow of Carter Rhoad, and his mother, Page, attended the court hearing virtually. Weirtz emotionally expressed her devastation over the loss of her husband, stating that her life has turned into a nightmare without him.

Gisell, visibly emotional, expressed remorse and apologized for her actions during the trial. She acknowledged the irreparable harm caused and vowed to strive towards personal improvement.

Having confessed to her crimes, Gisell received a 14-year prison sentence for vehicle robbery with violence and an additional six years for robbery with violence, along with a monetary fine.

Jesús Gerardo, Irineo Francisco, and Ángel Jesús have been charged with aggravated homicide related to the deaths of the Robinsons and Mr. Rhoad. Their trial dates are pending as they have not entered formal pleas.

Authorities are actively searching for a fourth suspected murderer, whose identity has not been disclosed to the public, while a cooperating witness is believed not to have been directly involved in the crimes.

Efforts to locate the unidentified suspect continue as the legal proceedings progress in this tragic case.
