In a recent court hearing, details were provided by Dt Sgt Niall Hayes regarding the arrest and charging of the couple’s son. The court indicated plans to seek a remand in custody for Gallagher at Cork District Court, as bail is not typically granted for murder charges at this level.
Defence solicitor Shane Collins Daly successfully secured free legal aid for Gallagher and requested urgent medical and psychiatric evaluations upon his entry into Cork Prison. The judge approved these requests, ensuring proper medical care for Gallagher while in custody. Gallagher was remanded in custody and scheduled to appear at Cork District Court via video link.
