Starmer Calls Farage “Spineless” on Racism

Keir Starmer has criticized Nigel Farage for his handling of racism, calling him “spineless.” The Prime Minister has urged the Reform UK leader to address alleged racist remarks he made in his youth promptly.

A former schoolmate recalled Nigel Farage making troubling statements, including mentioning Hitler positively and referencing Nazi gas chambers while at Dulwich College. Reform UK has dismissed these claims as part of a smear campaign.

In response to the allegations, Keir Starmer, on his way to the G20 summit in South Africa, emphasized that Farage must address the accusations. Starmer highlighted Farage’s lack of leadership in addressing similar issues, citing an incident involving Reform MP Sarah Pochin’s controversial remarks about TV commercials featuring Black and Asian individuals.

Starmer underlined the importance of Farage clarifying his past comments, stating that accountability is essential. He pointed out Farage’s inaction regarding racism within his party, labeling him as “spineless” for failing to address such matters promptly.

The Labour leader emphasized the need for Farage to explain the recent accusations against him and address the apparent racism within his party. Starmer criticized Farage for his silence on the issue and urged him to demonstrate leadership in combating racism within his political circle.
