Aphrodite Deng from Calgary, last year’s top amateur in Mississauga, Ontario, finished her round strongly with consecutive birdies, posting a 67 to reach 3 under for the tournament.
The cut line at the $2.75-million US event is set at the top 65 players and ties. Canadian teenagers Anna Huang from Vancouver and Michelle Xing from Richmond Hill, Ontario, who began the day just three shots off the lead at 5 under, had afternoon tee times for their rounds.
