A teacher, Elias Gordon Farley, 26, has been arrested for allegedly using a shared Google document to groom an underage student and engaging in sexual activities with her both at school and at his apartment. The victim reported the abuse on November 18, leading to Farley’s arrest on December 4. Farley, identified as a science teacher at the Donna Klein Jewish Academy in Boca Raton, Palm Beach County, Florida, is no longer employed at the school according to a statement from a school spokesperson on December 5.
The victim disclosed that the interactions with Farley began as casual conversations during the previous school year but escalated over the summer when Farley created a shared Google Doc for exchanging messages. The document reportedly contained explicit content detailing sexual activities and plans for private meetings between the teacher and the student.
Allegations suggest that the physical relationship started in mid-September in Farley’s office, with the student claiming that the encounters, including inappropriate touching, continued in both Farley’s office and a classroom for several weeks. By late September and into October, the student alleged engaging in sexual acts, including oral sex, even having intercourse in a classroom on campus.
During early November, the student visited Farley’s apartment twice, where multiple sexual encounters took place. A search at Farley’s residence revealed condom wrappers and furniture matching the victim’s description. Farley’s roommate confirmed his absence on the dates the student claimed to have visited the apartment.
Security footage from the school captured Farley and the student entering his office together on November 7 and later spending about an hour in a classroom. The victim reported the alleged crimes after showing bruises and bite marks, which she attributed to Farley, to an art teacher on November 14. Farley was suspended the next day following the report.
Farley is currently detained at the Palm Beach County Main Detention Center, facing charges for engaging in sexual activity with an underage student. Police are actively investigating the case and encourage anyone with relevant information to contact the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office at (+1)561-688-3000.
