Disgraced Sarah Ferguson is reportedly considering leaving the UK amidst the ongoing Jeffrey Epstein scandal. A close friend revealed that the former Duchess is looking into residing in a guest suite at a luxurious oceanfront villa in Portugal owned by her daughter Princess Eugenie and son-in-law Jack Brooksbank, as she and her ex-husband Andrew Mountbatten Windsor prepare to move out of their long-time Royal Lodge residence.
Ferguson and Andrew were asked to leave their prestigious estate due to the controversy surrounding their ties to the late billionaire Epstein. Despite Andrew denying any involvement in Epstein’s crimes, Ferguson faced repercussions, including being removed from various charities following an email from 2011 where she referred to Epstein as her “supreme friend” and later apologized to him.
In the email, Ferguson expressed gratitude towards Epstein, contradicting previous statements where she admitted her association with him was a significant error. She also pledged to sever all ties with Epstein, only to later apologize to him in a seemingly humble manner.
A spokesperson for Ferguson clarified that the email was sent in response to legal threats from Epstein, advising her to placate him. The ongoing fallout from the Epstein scandal has reportedly taken a toll on Ferguson, with royal expert Phil Dampier mentioning that she was on the brink of a breakdown, with her sister Jane flying in from Australia to offer support.
Following their departure from the Royal Lodge, Ferguson and Andrew will conclude their cohabitation arrangement, despite divorcing in 1996. Andrew is expected to relocate to the Sandringham estate after being stripped of his titles by his brother, King Charles.
