Sky has unveiled an exciting update that is set to capture attention. The television provider is rolling out a new subscription package that combines several top-tier streaming services at a reduced monthly rate. For just £24 per month, customers, both new and existing, will gain access to a lineup that includes Disney+, Netflix, Hayu, and the upcoming HBO Max app.
The bundle is designed to offer significant value, providing around £20 worth of streaming applications for a lower cost. Considering Sky’s current basic plan is priced at £15 monthly, the additional content effectively comes at just an extra £9.
Moreover, subscribers to the Ultimate TV plan will enjoy access to over 130 channels, featuring offerings such as Sky Comedy, Sky Documentaries, Sky Crime, and Sky History.
Furthermore, Sky Cinema users will receive a dedicated Disney movie channel directly added to their planner, enabling them to watch Disney blockbuster films without having to open the Disney+ app.
Existing Disney+ subscribers who sign up through Sky can seamlessly transfer their current plan, whether Standard or Premium, while retaining their profiles and viewing history.
Sky has confirmed that all supported apps will be easily accessible from the homepage, with integrated content. This integration allows users to discover shows and movies through voice search and save them to a Playlist for later viewing.
The new Sky Ultimate plan will be accessible across Sky Glass, Sky Stream, and Sky Q platforms.
Sophia Ahmad, Sky’s Chief Consumer Officer, described the update as a “new era” for Sky and NOW, uniting Sky, Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, and Hayu under a single subscription. She highlighted the integrated viewing experience and compelling value proposition, mentioning that NOW Entertainment customers will receive HBO Max at no extra charge.
Sky emphasizes that this move underscores its commitment to innovation, simplifying the way viewers access premium entertainment in a consolidated platform.
KEY HIGHLIGHTS OF THE UPDATE:
• Netflix Standard with Ads
• Disney+ Standard with Ads – starting in March (exact date TBD)
• HBO Max Basic with Ads – launching in the UK & Ireland on March 26
• Hayu starting in July, with select top shows available from March
