“UK Health Secretary Slams Trump’s Misogynistic Comments”

Wes Streeting has criticized Donald Trump for his disrespectful remarks towards a female journalist, where he referred to her as “Quiet! Quiet, piggy.”

The Health Secretary condemned such conduct towards women, stating that it should be relegated to history and expressing disbelief that a prominent British politician would address a political reporter in such a manner.

Streeting emphasized that he would not tolerate his sisters being spoken to in such a derogatory way, highlighting the inappropriateness of such language, especially in a professional setting.

Trump’s offensive outburst occurred when Bloomberg’s Catherine Lucey questioned him about the Epstein files during his journey to Washington on Air Force One.

Upon watching the clip of Trump’s offensive comments on ITV’s This Morning, Streeting unequivocally stated that such behavior is unacceptable.

Streeting underscored the ongoing struggle to combat sexism and misogyny in society, emphasizing the need to eradicate derogatory language and behavior towards women from public discourse.

As part of the launch of England’s inaugural Men’s Health Strategy, the Cabinet minister outlined plans to transform perceptions of masculinity and strength, aiming to counter negative influences that promote sexist and misogynistic attitudes among young men.

The strategy seeks to address critical issues like suicide, alcohol abuse, and problem gambling that disproportionately affect men, who are less likely to seek help and more prone to risky behaviors compared to women.

The Government’s commitment includes a £3.6 million investment over three years in suicide prevention initiatives tailored to middle-aged men in communities most at risk of self-harm, particularly in disadvantaged areas of England.
