David McDonald, an 85-year-old golfer from Fall River, N.S., recently achieved a remarkable feat by shooting an even-par 72 at the challenging Ashburn Golf Club’s new course. Known for its lengthy layout and large, fast greens, the course posed a tough test for McDonald, who usually plays from the silver tees, covering nearly 5,800 yards. Despite facing some health challenges in the past, McDonald remains active, playing golf three to four times a week and emphasizing the importance of staying physically fit.

Witnessed by his friend Peter Stirling, McDonald’s impressive round of golf showcased his enduring passion for the game. With a history of success in military tournaments, including three national titles, McDonald’s dedication to golf has been a defining aspect of his life.
