“Fatal Crash: Refuse Truck Collides with House in Herefordshire”

In a Herefordshire market town, a tragic incident occurred as a large refuse truck crashed into the side of a house during the early hours of the morning. The collision caused significant damage to the property on Bridge Street in Leominster. Emergency services, including the police, fire, and ambulance teams, quickly responded to the scene following the crash reported at 6.41 am.

Regrettably, a man in his 60s, who was a passenger in the lorry, lost his life in the accident. The other two individuals in the vehicle sustained injuries. The collision took place at a mini roundabout linking Mill Street and Bridge Street, where the bin lorry veered off the road. Both the West Midlands Ambulance Service and West Mercia Police are still present at the location.

Authorities from Herefordshire Council are collaborating with partners to assess the situation and have urged people to avoid the area to facilitate the work of emergency responders. Gratitude was expressed to the swift emergency services’ response, with updates promised as more details come to light.

Witnesses in the vicinity described being awoken by the deafening impact of the crash. Meanwhile, a West Mercia Police spokesperson informed the public about the ongoing emergency response to the collision on Mill Street, emphasizing road closures and advising people to steer clear of the area temporarily.
