“Hurry! Claim £100 Supermarket Vouchers from Nottingham Council”

Time is running out for numerous households to claim £100 worth of supermarket vouchers. Nottingham City Council is offering these vouchers through the Household Support Fund, with the application deadline set at midnight. While specific eligibility details are not disclosed, it is expected that individuals with low income or receiving benefits will qualify. Applications can be submitted on the Nottingham City Council website.

Successful applicants, chosen randomly, will receive one of the 10,000 vouchers available. Even if you have previously received a voucher from the council in April 2025, you are still eligible to apply. The council aims to notify applicants via email by December 12, but the actual distribution of vouchers may extend until February 28, 2026.

Councillor Cheryl Barnard, Executive Member for Children, Young People, and Education at the Council, expressed satisfaction with the additional £1 million allocated to support Nottingham’s most vulnerable residents during the winter months. This funding aims to alleviate financial pressures faced by households, particularly as costs typically rise at this time of year. The council’s website offers additional advice and support options for struggling households through various schemes and organizations.

The Household Support Fund, part of a £742 million government initiative, provides local councils in England with funds to assist vulnerable households with essential living expenses, including energy bills and food. Residents facing financial difficulties are encouraged to inquire about available support from their local council.

For instance, Wakefield Council is distributing food vouchers to low-income households receiving council tax assistance. Pensioners receiving Council Tax Support already received a £70 voucher in November, with additional vouchers planned for other eligible households. Families in receipt of Council Tax Support will receive £50 vouchers from December 15, while all other qualifying households will be awarded £70 vouchers between December 3 and December 12.

Blackpool Council is offering £200 in energy assistance to eligible households with one or two members, including children. Households with three or more members, including children, will receive £300. To qualify for this support, individuals must demonstrate financial hardship and difficulties in paying bills, providing recent bank statements for all household members as evidence.
