Samsung has unveiled a trio of new Galaxy S26 smartphones, with the standout feature being the Privacy Display on the S26 Ultra. This innovative feature prevents unauthorized viewing of the screen by activating a setting that makes content disappear when not directly viewed. This ensures privacy in public spaces, such as on trains, by blocking out texts, movies, apps, or notifications from prying eyes.
According to Samsung, the Galaxy S26 Ultra debuts the industry’s first built-in Privacy Display, revolutionizing phone privacy protection by controlling how pixels disperse light to maintain clear content visibility for the user while restricting visibility for others. Alongside this feature, the Ultra boasts a thinner design, extended battery life, and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform for Galaxy, offering fast charging capabilities that reach 75% in just 30 minutes.
The device also sports an enhanced quad rear camera for improved night photography and upgraded Super Steady video capabilities, including a horizontal lock option for stable home movie recording. Additionally, the S Pen allows users to take notes directly on the 6.9-inch AMOLED screen.
Joining the Ultra are the standard S26 and the larger S26 Plus models, both powered by Samsung’s Exynos chip and featuring triple-lens rear cameras. All new Samsung smartphones receive a significant boost in smart features through a Galaxy AI upgrade, introducing features like Now Nudge, which provides relevant suggestions to users to enhance productivity without distractions.
While these updates enhance user experience, they come at an increased cost this year. The UK pricing for the new Samsung Galaxy S26 range is as follows:
– S26: 256GB £879, 512GB £1,049
– S26 Plus: 256GB £1,099, 512GB £1,269
– S26 Ultra: 256GB £1,279, 512GB £1,449, 1TB (with 16GB RAM) £1,699
The devices are expected to be available in stores next month.
