“Sky UK Subscribers Get HBO Max for Free”

Sky customers in the UK are in for a treat as HBO Max, a new streaming service, has been introduced as part of select plans at no extra cost. This comes after Sky recently included the popular Disney+ platform in their offerings. Subscribers with the Sky Ultimate TV package can now enjoy a range of top titles such as Game of Thrones, Friends, Dune, Succession, and Young Sheldon without the usual £4.99 monthly fee, resulting in potential savings of over £50.

Sky confirmed that customers with Sky Ultimate TV on Sky Glass or Sky Stream, as well as Sky Q customers with the right package, will receive HBO Max Basic with Ads as part of their subscription. This service, well-established in the USA, features a vast library of beloved HBO dramas like Succession and The Wire, alongside new Max Originals including The Pitt. Additionally, viewers can access a variety of Warner Bros. films.

To start streaming HBO Max, eligible customers can easily launch the app from their homepage and follow the on-screen instructions for activation. For those not on the Sky Ultimate TV plan, switching to it is possible starting at £22 per month, rising to £24 from April 1st. This comprehensive package includes over 130 Sky channels, Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, and the upcoming Hayu service.

Sophia Ahmad, Sky’s Chief Consumer Officer, expressed excitement about the integration of Sky, Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, and Hayu into a single subscription, marking a significant milestone for the company. NOW Entertainment customers will also have access to HBO Max within the NOW app at no additional cost.

For non-Sky subscribers interested in HBO Max, they can sign up directly on the HBO Max website, with Standard with Ads plans starting at £5.99. This move underscores Sky’s commitment to providing a diverse range of entertainment options for viewers.
