A court was informed that a teenager accused of killing a 14-year-old boy bragged about the murder in a rap video shortly after the incident. The victim, Ibrahima Seck, was fatally stabbed while on his way to play football in the New Moston area of Manchester in June. Despite seeking help from nearby residents, he succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.
Three teenage boys, two aged 14 and one aged 16, are currently standing trial for the murder, with their identities protected due to their ages. Prosecutors allege that the accused individuals, part of a larger group, had been issuing threats to Ibrahima, his family, and friends.
According to prosecution barrister Jamie Hamilton KC, the group pursued Ibrahima, causing him to fall, after which one of the accused allegedly knelt over him and stabbed him, goaded by the others. Subsequently, the perpetrator filmed himself rapping about the murder, showcasing one of the other teenagers in the video.
Witnesses, including Ibrahima’s brothers, reportedly heard the attacker demand something before the stabbing. Hamilton emphasized the intentional nature of the act, dismissing it as an accident.
Although CCTV footage did not capture the stabbing itself due to obstruction by a tree, enhanced police audio played in court revealed chaotic sounds. Prosecutors claimed that immediately after the incident, two women assisted in removing two of the defendants from the scene.
The three teenagers have pleaded not guilty to murder and manslaughter, while the two women deny aiding an offender. The trial is ongoing at Manchester Crown Court.
