Joanne Goffey, 28, recounted the harrowing experience as she walked her son, Roman, home from school. A dog, suspected to be a bull breed, viciously attacked the child, causing significant injuries to his eye, ears, and cheeks, necessitating surgical intervention.
The distressed mother, a resident of Doncaster, described the unleashed and unmuzzled dog pouncing on Roman on November 6, prompting her to frantically seek help as she believed her son was in mortal danger. Recounting the traumatic event, Joanne expressed her shock and terror, emphasizing the entirely avoidable nature of the attack that endangered her son’s life.
Following the assault, Roman is now recuperating at home, with Joanne urging dog owners to exercise greater responsibility by keeping their pets on leashes in public spaces.
