EE has recently enhanced its Scam Guard service to combat the increasing threat of scams targeting mobile users. With cybercriminals employing ever-evolving tactics to deceive individuals and extract sensitive information, millions of pounds are lost daily in the UK alone. In response to this escalating issue, EE has introduced a new version of Scam Guard, aimed at thwarting a higher number of fraudulent attacks directed at smartphones.
The upgraded Scam Guard is now accessible to all EE pay-monthly mobile subscribers for a monthly fee of £2. Despite the additional cost, EE assures customers that the improved protection offered by the service justifies the investment. Since its initial launch in 2024, Scam Guard has successfully intercepted 169 million scam and spam attempts, showcasing its effectiveness in safeguarding users.
The latest iteration of Scam Guard incorporates AI Triple-Lock Protection, a sophisticated system comprising three key elements powered by Norton’s Genie AI engine. Among these features is Safe Email, which proactively shields email inboxes from potential scams round the clock. Additionally, Safe SMS utilizes advanced AI technology to identify intricate scams within text messages, providing users with real-time protection. Moreover, Safe Web safeguards customers while they shop or browse online by preemptively blocking malicious websites.
Furthermore, the upgraded Scam Guard introduces Scam Assistant, enabling users to upload screenshots of suspicious content for immediate evaluation. Social Media Monitoring and Dark Web Monitoring are also integrated into the service, monitoring online activities for any signs of fraudulent behavior and promptly notifying users to take necessary action.
