SeatGeek Canada has been hit with two additional fines by the Ontario government for allegedly breaching a recent law that limits the resale of event tickets to their original face value. According to the province’s consumer protection website, the latest fines imposed on the ticket resale platform this month amount to a total of $22,500. The initial fine, totaling $15,000, was issued for purportedly offering a ticket for sale above the resale price limit. The second fine, amounting to $7,500, was for allegedly not disclosing the total ticket price when purchased from a primary seller. Both SeatGeek Canada and the province have not provided immediate responses regarding the specific events linked to the fines or whether the company intends to challenge the penalties. In August, the province had already fined the company $25,000 for similar violations.
