A significant number of applications and services typically require a monthly subscription fee for their usage, and now WhatsApp may be joining this trend. Recently, it has been observed by the vigilant team at WABetaInfo that WhatsApp, owned by Meta, is in the process of developing an enhanced version known as WhatsApp Plus.
This upgraded version is expected to introduce exclusive updates and features, including the ability to pin more chats (increasing from the current limit of 3 to a more convenient 20), enhanced customization options such as changing the app theme, app icon, and accent colors. Additionally, users might gain access to bonus stickers, more ringtones, and enhanced chat interactions with additional immersive reactions.
According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is working on a new premium subscription plan named “WhatsApp Plus” that will provide users with extra features in exchange for a monthly fee. This plan is currently in development for Android and iOS platforms but has not yet been officially released to the public.
In addition to the initial upgrades, it is speculated that Meta could introduce more features over time for users willing to pay for the premium subscription. While WhatsApp has not confirmed these rumors, test versions of the Plus app have been identified, indicating ongoing development.
Importantly, the existing free version of WhatsApp will remain available, and users will not be compelled to subscribe to the premium plan. This premium subscription is designed to offer added benefits to users who are willing to pay a monthly fee.
Stay tuned for further updates on WhatsApp Plus as more information is expected to be released soon.
